Move Your Website Without Losing What Makes It Valuable

Platform switches, host-to-host moves, Shopify to WordPress conversions, and full rescues from hosts that won't let go. We've migrated just about everything from just about everywhere, and we do it the way it should be done: no lost rankings, no lost data, no downtime, and every account in your name when it's over.

The Pitch

Migrations Are Where Good Websites Go to Die. Unless They're Done Right.

Ask around and you'll hear the same story with different logos: a business switches platforms or hosts, and the traffic falls off a cliff. Rankings earned over a decade, gone in a week. URLs changed with no redirects, metadata dropped, images broken, forms silently failing, and a Google crawl that comes back to a site it no longer recognizes.

None of that is inherent to migrating. It's inherent to migrating carelessly, because a migration isn't a file copy. It's an SEO project, a development project, and an infrastructure project happening simultaneously, and it goes wrong wherever one of those three disciplines is missing from the team. We're the shop that has all three, which is why our migrations are boring: the site moves, the rankings stay, and your visitors never know anything happened.

SEO Preservation

The Part Everyone Botches: Your Rankings

Your search equity is probably the most valuable thing your website owns, and it's the first casualty of a sloppy migration. Protecting it is a discipline of its own, and after 20+ years of SEO, it's baked into every move we do:

Complete redirect mapping

Every old URL pointed to its new home, one-to-one. No redirect chains, no wildcard shortcuts that dump everything on the homepage, no orphaned pages bleeding authority.

Preserved architecture and metadata

Titles, descriptions, structured data, internal links, and site structure carried over or deliberately improved, never accidentally dropped.

Crawl management

Search engines guided through the transition: sitemaps, Search Console, and monitoring that catches indexing problems in days instead of quarters.

Before-and-after benchmarking

Rankings and traffic tracked through the move, so "the migration went fine" is a measurement, not a feeling.

Replatforming should be the moment your SEO gets better, not the moment it resets to zero. Done our way, it usually is.

What We Migrate

Every Kind of Move

CMS Replatforming

Our bread and butter is Shopify to WordPress conversions, which we do all the time: full design rebuilds, content and product moves, and an escape from monthly platform rent and locked-down templates into a site you fully own. But we've replatformed from nearly everything: Magento, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, proprietary agency builders, and custom CMSes whose original developers vanished years ago. If it renders a webpage, we can get your site out of it.

Ecommerce Migrations

Stores are the highest-stakes migrations there are: products, variants, customers, order history, reviews, and payment configurations all have to arrive intact, because gaps here cost real money. We move stores between platforms with the data complete and the checkout tested end to end. And we know WooCommerce deeply enough that we built our own WooCommerce Anti-Fraud plugin, which stops credit card fraud in its tracks. Your new store can launch with it running.

Host-to-Host Moves

Same site, better home. Whether you're fleeing slow shared hosting, surprise renewal pricing, or a support team that stopped answering, we move your site cleanly, with DNS, email, and SSL handled and zero downtime at cutover. Most of these land on our own managed infrastructure, but we'll move you wherever you want to go.

Agency & Developer Handoffs

The developer retired. The agency folded. The relationship soured. Whatever happened, you've got a site nobody's maintaining and credentials nobody can find. We take over gracefully: locate and inventory everything, secure the accounts in your name, and give the site a responsible home.

The Rescue

When Your Host Won't Let Go, We Get Your Site Back

Here's an ugly corner of this industry most people discover at the worst possible moment: some hosts and web companies hold client websites hostage. They own the account, bury the credentials, ignore transfer requests, throttle access, or invent exit fees, all to make leaving painful enough that you stay. We've seen businesses locked out of their own websites by the company they were paying to run them.

We've handled a lot of these, and we're good at them. We help clients extract their own files, databases, domains, and email from hosts that won't cooperate: working every legitimate channel, recovering what's recoverable, and rebuilding whatever a hostile host manages to withhold. Then we set you up so it can never happen again, with every account, login, and asset in your name.

If you've read our other pages, you know this is personal philosophy as much as service: you should always hold the keys to what you own.

Nobody should have to negotiate for their own website.

Platform Expertise

Twenty Years of WordPress. Fluent in Everything Else.

We've been developing in WordPress for nearly 20 years, deep enough to build and sell our own commercial plugins, which makes it the destination we know best and recommend most: open source, portable, and impossible to hold hostage. But migration work means being bilingual by necessity, and we're adept across Shopify, Magento, and nearly every CMS you can think of, both as sources to escape from and platforms to work within.

That range matters, because the hardest part of any migration is understanding the system you're leaving: how it stores content, what its exports lie about, and where the data hides that the export button doesn't reach. We've pulled sites out of enough platforms to know their tricks.

Process

How a Migration Works

1

Audit & Inventory

We map everything you have: pages, content, data, integrations, traffic, rankings, DNS, and email. Migrations fail on the things nobody knew existed, so step one is knowing everything exists.

2

Migration Plan

Destination, architecture, redirect map, data strategy, and timeline, documented before anything moves. You approve the plan, including exactly what happens on cutover day.

3

Staging Build

The new site gets built and populated in full on a private staging environment. You click through your complete future site while the current one runs untouched.

4

Testing

Every page, form, checkout, integration, and redirect verified. For stores, that means test orders through the real payment flow, not a hopeful glance at the homepage.

5

Cutover

DNS switches with zero downtime, redirects go live, search engines get notified, and we watch traffic and errors in real time through the transition.

6

Post-Launch Watch

We monitor rankings, crawl behavior, and site health through the weeks after launch, because migration problems that escape day one like to surface in week three. Ours get caught, because we're still looking.

Proof

The Best Migration Is the One Nobody Notices

We've done these moves so many times, from so many platforms, that the process is engineering rather than adventure. Sites we've migrated keep their rankings, keep their revenue, and usually improve on both, because the move doubles as a tune-up: faster hosting, cleaner code, and architecture fixed with 20 years of SEO hindsight.

The websites we've built and managed have generated hundreds of millions of dollars for their owners.

Protecting that kind of value in transit is exactly the job.

FAQ

Common Questions

Will we lose rankings?
Not if it's done right, and doing it right is most of what you're hiring. With complete redirect mapping, preserved metadata, and managed recrawling, rankings typically hold through the move and often improve after, thanks to better speed and structure. The horror stories you've heard are redirect negligence, not migration risk.
How much downtime should we expect?
None that your visitors notice. The new site is fully built and tested before DNS ever changes, and the cutover itself is seamless. Your site does not go dark during a migration.
Our current host won't give us access. Can you still help?
Usually, yes. Between legitimate recovery channels, what's publicly retrievable, and rebuilding the gaps, we get businesses out of hostage situations regularly. The sooner you start, the more leverage and options exist, so don't wait for the relationship to fully collapse.
How long does a migration take?
Simple host-to-host moves can be done within days. Full replatforming with a redesign typically runs weeks, driven by site size and data complexity. The audit gives you a real timeline before anything is committed.
Do we have to host with you afterward?
No. Many clients land on our managed infrastructure because it pairs naturally with the fresh start, but we'll migrate you to any host you choose, with everything in your name either way.
Can you move our email too?
Yes. Email, DNS, SSL, and domains are part of the job, and they're where DIY migrations most often go sideways. Nothing gets left behind on the old host, including the stuff nobody remembers is there.
What does it cost?
It scales with size and complexity: a straightforward host move is a small project, a full ecommerce replatform is a bigger one. After the audit, you get a fixed scope and price. Compare it to what a week of lost rankings or a broken checkout costs, and it's the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy.

Wherever Your Site Is Stuck, We'll Get It Out

Outgrown your platform, fed up with your host, or locked out of your own website: the first step is the same. Tell us where your site is now and where you want it to be, and we'll map the move, the timeline, and the price.
